"We had looked at different contractors in the area and watched Flowerday Design build a home up the road from us. We were very impressed by the detail and the fact that he was there every day to look over the job site. We liked how Doug is a hands on contractor. He is there everyday doing most of the work himself. Anything that was contracted out he was there to oversee.
When Doug came to give us a quote on our renovations, we found him very easy to talk to and he suggested things to improve the design. We had quite a few meetings to discuss the details with Doug, we were very confident in him and his ability to do a great job.
We live in a 100 year old home. Before our addition and renovations could take place our home and floors had to be leveled first. We were consulted on every step during the leveling process and what to expect. Each morning we would discuss the day's activities. We were always kept well informed on what was happening that day.
After our home was leveled e had the old siding removed to the bar wood. Then the house was wrapped, insulated, re-sided, new roof, soffit fascia, and eaves trough. Before we started the renovations I would wear a sweater all day, the furnace ran all the time, and hear the constant roar of trucks going by. That has all changed, my house is warm, the furnace hardly runs and no more highway noise. The job site was always kept clean of debris and materials cleaned up at the end of the day. It was always kept safe for my family to walk.
During the addition process Doug would suggest things more cost effective and also what would improve the design of the addition. He was very acceptable to any changes that we made along the way with no complaints.
We would definitely recommend Flowerday Design/Build to our family and friends. He was always extremely professional. Communication is the key and Doug always kept us informed from start to finish. Doug is not only our contractor but now a life long friend."
